Two children, including a six-month baby girl, were burnt alive today in a house fire in Jalore district, police said.

The incident took place in Chandpura village under Jaswantpura police station where a thatched roof kutcha house caught fire from a nearby hearth, they said.

The parents of the girls-- one aged two and the other a baby-- had gone out for work, police said, the victims were sleeping when the fire broke out.

As it was a kutcha house, the fire engulfed it within few minutes leaving no time for rescue, Head Constable Amara Ram said.
