Badal appoints chairpersons for govt bodies

Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today approved the appointments of 10 chairpersons in various boards and corporations of the state government.

Former Minister Avtar Singh Brar has been appointed as Chairman of PEPSU Road Transport Corporation (PRTC), an official spokesman said here today.

Brar had last year defected from Congress to join Akali Dal.

Moga MLA Joginder Pal Jain will take over as the Chairman of Punjab State Warehousing Corporation. Jain, too, had crossed over from Congress to join SAD.

Others whose name were cleared by the CM included SGPC member Dayal Singh Kolianwali who has been made Chairman of Punjab Agro Food Grains Corporation and former MLA Parkash Singh Bhatti, who will take over as Chairman of Punjab SC Land Development and Finance Corporation.
 

Youth Akali leader Ravikiran Singh Kahlon has been appointed Chairman of Punjab Water Resources Management and Development Corporation.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister accepted the resignation of Chairman of District Planning Committee SAS Nagar, Harbhajan Mann. The popular Punjabi singer had resigned from his post on December 18 last year.
