Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president Capt Amarinder Singh today asked Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and his Delhi counterpart Arvind Kejriwal to spell out their stand on water sharing with Haryana.

Criticising Badal for not taking up the matter with the Centre which has "resulted in its adverse stand" against Punjab, Capt Amarinder alleged, history will never forgive him (Badal) for keeping quiet when it came to taking a stand for Punjab over and above his personal and family interests.

Amarinder alleged that Punjab farmers would be badly hit if the Supreme Court accept the Centre's contention favouring Haryana.

He also demanded that Kejriwal should also make his stand clear as he is shedding a lot of crocodile tears for Punjab farmers.

He claimed that he had "enacted" the Water Sharing Agreements Abrogation Act to save Punjab waters.

"Thanks to Badal's criminal negligence all our efforts are at the risk of getting washed away as he (Badal) failed to plead and put up a strong case with the Centre and the apex court on the matter", the former Chief Minister said.
