Union Minister Preneet Kaur today asked Punjab Chief Minister to either sever ties with the BJP or convince his Gujarat counterpart Narendra Modi to withdraw the eviction order of 1,000 Sikh families from Kutch region.
"Onus lies on Punjab Chief Minister as his party is in alliance with BJP which is in power in Gujarat," the Union Minister of State for External Affairs told reporters here.
Either SAD sever ties with BJP or asks Gujarat Chief Minister to withdraw Collector's order of eviction, she said.

Preneet claimed that a delegation of farmers from Gujarat belonging to Sikh community had met her in connection with freezing agriculture accounts of the outsiders of the state.
The government there is not even allowing mutation and sale of the property, she added.
Preneet said that she has written a letter to Badal recently in this regard.
On SAD's allegation that she was silent on the hate crimes against Punjabis in Philippines and her failure as a minister to put diplomatic pressure, she said the matter has been taken up strongly.
