In view of the "grave irregularities" found in this case, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal gave nod for vigilance enquiry in line with his government's policy of "zero tolerance for corruption and other malpractice" in the state administration, an official spokesman said here.
Meanwhile, the Managing Director of PAFCL had deputed a special team for the physical verification of the food grains stacked at various plinths of Mullanpur Center on September 7 and 8.
Later, an FIR has also been lodged against former plinth in-charge Mela Singh in this connection.
