Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today dubbed the budget tabled in Assembly as growth oriented and pro-people.
"It is in consonance with the state government's endeavour to achieve a target of comprehensive development and will take care of each section of the society besides propelling the tempo of overall growth of the state," the Akali leader said.
In a statement, he described the budget as a "perfect roadmap" to further put the state in the "orbit of high growth trajectory". Badal appreciated the Finance Minister's move of not burdening the people of Punjab with dose of any fresh taxes.

He said that this budget has taken care of all the core sectors - health, education, power, infra structure, social security, water supply and sanitation, horticulture and others.
Badal said that the budget would be instrumental in ensuring far more financial discipline with economic prudence in narrowing down the fiscal deficit with a focus on the enhancement of revenue through resource mobilisation.
He said the current budget was a roadmap for the revival of industrial sector and imparting fresh lease of life to the stagnated agrarian economy of the state through the flagship programme of crop diversification.
He said that the current budget was a milestone which would go a long way in setting new parameters of growth and development to cherish aspirations of people of Punjab in near future.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal congratulated Dhindsa for the "fiscal turn around achieved by the state along with the new thrust given to development and social welfare".
In a statement, the Deputy Chief Minister also lauded the minister for adopting fiscal measures that has resulted in an 10.16 per cent growth in gross state domestic product (GSDP) at for fiscal year 2014-15.
