Talking to the media persons here before laying down the foundation stone of Gau Shala (cow shelter) and Hanuman Mandir (temple), the chief minister said the people indulging in such inhuman activities should not be spared at any cost and the Centre must ensure "severest of severe punishment" for them.
Advocating more stringent laws to curb the crime against women, especially that of the eve teasing, Badal said the state government on its part has already begun exploring the possibility of making required amendments in the law to check these crimes besides initiating steps to set up special fast track courts to deal with such cases.
He said it was high time for the the Union government to take necessary action for making the relevant laws more stringent by declaring eve teasing as a non-bailable offence.
