The Punjab CM was admitted to PGIMER following chest congestion and fever

Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, admitted to a hospital here following chest congestion and fever, was on Tuesday shifted out of ICU following improvement in his condition.

A team of doctors attending on Badal shifted him from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to a private room in PGIMER following a "remarkable and consistent" improvement in his health, a spokesperson for the Chief Minister's office said here.

The medical team led by Head of Pulmonary Medicine, PGIMER D Behra has decided to keep him in the hospital till the infection goes away, the spokesman said.

"Meanwhile, the doctors expressed complete satisfaction on his recovery as the chest infection was also gradually decreasing," the spokesman said.
 

Badal was admitted to a local hospital in Nawanshahar in Punjab after he had complained of chest congestion, four days back.

He was later shifted to PGIMER here.
