Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar today said Punjab Deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal was under the "misconception" that Goa was the easiest place to get drugs, and invited him to visit the state to get the real picture.

"I offer Sukhbir Singh Badal to come to Goa and stay here for eight days. I am ready to host him. Let him go around and clear his misconception that he is nurturing about the state (Goa)," Parsekar told PTI.

He was reacting to the statement that Badal made yesterday at an event in New Delhi, while responding to a question on the drugs crisis in Punjab. "Goa is the easiest place in India to get drugs, but there are hardly any arrests. Punjab is acting tough, but gets branded as the drug capital," Singh had said.

"When did he (Sukhbir Singh) come to Goa for a stay? There are some people who have acute misconceptions about Goa. They feel people here are scantily dressed, we are busy drinking entire day, drugs are freely available on the beaches," Parsekar said.

The Chief Minister said these people should actually come down to Goa, spend some time here and then make their opinion.
