Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today accused Congress of pursuing the policy of divide and rule for the sake of its vested political interests.
Assailing the party for deceiving weaker and downtrodden sections of the state, Badal said despite being in power for most of the six decades after independence, people were striving for the basic amenities.
Badal said slogans like 'Garibi Hatao' by Congress leaders had proved to be hollow as a "sizeable chunk of country's population was finding tough to manage two square meals a day".
