The sacred portals of Badrinath will be closed for the winter season on November 16.

Announcing the propitious hour for the closure of the Himalayan shrine, Badrinanath Mandir Samiti Mukhya Dharmadhikari, Bhuvan Chandra Uniyal said the temple doors will be closed ceremoniously amid prayers at 3.45 PM on November 16.

Located at a height of 10,170 feet, the doors of the famous four Himalayan temples in Uttarakhand, also known as 'chardham', are closed annually around this time of the year when the area remains snowbound.
