The Kolkata derby match of the I-League between Mohun Bagan and East Bengal has been rescheduled to February 17 from the earlier February 11 date.

"It's official. The match will be held (at Vivekananda Yuva Bharati Krirangan) on February 17," East Bengal secretary Kalyan Majumdar said.

The match had to be postponed because of February 13 byelections in West Bengal.

The AIFF said after a meeting of the I-League and the Federation Cup Committee in New Delhi that the first leg clash between the two Kolkata giants will be postponed by six days due to "to a force majeure (unforseen) situation".

"The committee, after a thread bare discussion was of the view that the I-League match between East Bengal and Mohun Bagan scheduled to be on 11th February 2015 could not be held due to a force majeure situation. Mr. Ankur Dutta gave a ruling regarding the same, supporting the opinion of the majority of the members present," the AIFF said in a statement.

"The committee unanimously resolved that in accordance to the section 17 (a) of the Hero I-League regulations and due to the force majeure situation prevailing on the match of 11th February 2015, the Kolkata Derby shall be rescheduled to 17th February (7 PM IST)," it added.

The meeting, presided by I-League Committee vice-chairman Ankur Dutta, was attended by AIFF General Secretary Kushal Das, Vice-President Subrata Dutta, I-League CEO Sunando Dhar and club representatives.
