Baghpat police summons Delhi MLA in Bhoora escape case

A former Delhi MLA has been summoned by the Uttar Pradesh police here in connection with the escape of criminal Amit alias Bhoora, a senior officer said today.

"A notice has been served to former MLA Rambir Shokeen to appear before the police to record his statement, Superintendent of Police J K Shahi told PTI.

He said that Shokeen (an independent MLA from Mundka Assembly constituency of Delhi) has been given seven days time.

During interrogation of the other accused, it was revealed that Bhoora's escape plan was prepared in the office of the former MLA, the SP said, adding Bhoora managed to escape from the police custody while being taken to the court.
 

Bhoora, who was brought from Saharanpur, escaped while being taken to the court from an auto by his aides on December 15.

Police said that the miscreants took away two AK-47 rifles and an SLR with them.
