Chairing a high-level meeting of officials here to review the functioning of various government departments, Bahuguna asked them to establish direct contact with people and ensure time-bound delivery of services to them.

"No laxity in timely implementation of government schemes will be tolerated and the erring officials will be sternly dealt with," he said.

Bahuguna asked officials to pay special attention to departments concerned directly with the masses and ensure that foodgrains, kerosene and LPG cylinders be made available to the common man smoothly.

The Chief Minister directed them to ensure implementation of development and welfare schemes in a time-bound manner and prepare a sound roadmap for regular supply of power and drinking water to people.

He also asked them to explore ways to enhance the state's financial resources and make mining the main source of revenue generation in the state.

The Chief Minister directed the mining secretary to review mining activities across the state on a weekly basis and also prepare a report identifying the mining-free zones in Uttarakhand.
