On the lines of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam, the Baidyanath Dham shrine in state's Deoghar district will have its own temple authority, to oversee its running, Jharkhand government said today.
The government has in principle taken the decision to establish an authority of Baidyanath temple and Basukinath temple on the lines of Tirupati and other major temples in the country, Chief Minister Raghubar Das said in the Assembly.
The state's chief minister would be the chairman of the temple authority, he added.
BJP MLA Ashok Bhagat had earlier suggested that both Baidyanath temple in Deoghar and Basukinath temple in Dumka should have a combined authority on the lines of Tirupati for their smooth functioning.
