Incumbent Birendra Prasad Baisya is all set to be re-elected president of Indian Weightlifting Federation during its Annual General Body meeting in Guwahati on December 21.

Baisya, also a Member of Parliament, will be elected unopposed as he remained the only contestant for the top job after the scrutiny of nominations by the returning officer Uddhab Ch Rabha, retired District and Sessions Judge.

The AGM may see election of only one post -- that of secretary general -- with Sunil Elangbam of Manipur and D Chandrahas Rai of Karnataka filing nominations. A candidate can withdraw his nomination till tomorrow.

Outgoing secretary general Sahdev Yadav is set to become one of the 10 vice-presidents.

There will be no elections for vice-presidents also and two incumbents Abraham Techi and K Subramanya are among those who are set to continue to their posts.
