Bajaj Corp Q2 net profit up 24.95% at Rs 46.77 crore

FMCG firm Bajaj Corp today reported 24.95 per cent increase in standalone net profit at Rs 46.77 crore for the second quarter ended September 2015, helped by lower expenses.

The company reported a net profit of Rs 37.43 crore in the same quarter a year ago.

Net sales during the quarter under review went up by 10.68 per cent to Rs 207.64 crore as against Rs 187.60 crore in the corresponding period last year, the company said in a BSE filing.

Overall expenses during the quarter were at Rs 144.43 crore, an increase of 5.13 per cent compared with Rs 137.14 crore in the same quarter last year.
 

Bajaj Corp has several products in the hair care segment such as Bajaj Almond Drops, Bajaj Kailash Parbat and Bajaj Brahmi Amla.

In 2013, Bajaj Corp acquired Nomarks brands from Ozone Ayurvedics for Rs 140.94 crore to strengthen its position in the personal care segment.

Shares of Bajaj Corp closed at Rs 442.85 apiece, down 4.50 per cent, from their previous close on the BSE.
