Bajaj Finance shares spurt 8% on encouraging Q3 results

Bajaj Finance shares surged over 8 per cent today after the company reported 33 per cent rise in its standalone net profit for the quarter ended December 31, 2014.

Bajaj Finance's scrip rose by 8.18 per cent to end at Rs 3,765.75 on the BSE. During the day, it jumped 18.67 per cent to Rs 4,130.95 -- its 52-week high.

At the NSE, it climbed 7.67 per cent to end at Rs 3,750.

Bajaj Finance Ltd today reported 33 per cent rise in its standalone net profit at Rs 258.38 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2014.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 194.14 crore in the corresponding quarter of 2013-14.
 

"Total income has increased from Rs 1,081.5 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2013, to Rs 1,485.39 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2014," it said in a filing to the BSE.

The company's income from operations rose to Rs 1,416.43 crore from Rs 1,027.02 crore a year ago.

Bajaj Finance, which is promoted by Bajaj Finserv Ltd, is primarily in the business of financing.
