Bajaj Hindusthan's Q3 net loss narrows to Rs 67 cr

Country's largest sugar firm Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar's net loss narrowed to Rs 66.88 crore in the quarter ended on December 31.

The company had reported net loss of Rs 280.84 crore in the October-December period of the last fiscal.

Net loss came down despite its income from operations falling to Rs 733.95 crore during the third quarter of the current fiscal from Rs 1,160.97 crore in the year-ago period, the company said in a regulatory filing.

Total expenses during the quarter declined to Rs 635.45 crore from Rs 1,275.08 crore in the year-ago period.

The country's largest sugar producer has 14 plants with aggregated cane crushing capacity of 1,36,000 tonnes crushed per day, and alcohol distillation capacity of 800 kilo litres per day.
 

The Shishir Bajaj-led Bajaj Group with total revenues of USD 3.25 billion and an asset base of USD 4.4 billion has interests in power, sugar, ethanol, real estate, personal care products and infrastructure.

The group has recently synchronised the second 660-mw unit of its power plant at Lalitpur in Uttar Pradesh.

Bajaj Hindusthan's stock was trading 2.69 per cent down at Rs 16.30 on the BSE.
