Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar's Q3 net loss narrows to Rs 280.84 cr

Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar today reported narrowing of its standalone net loss for the quarter to December at Rs 280.84 crore, hit by lower sweetener and higher cane prices.

The company had clocked a net loss of Rs 389.07 crore in the same period last year.

Total income from operations during the October-December period of the current financial year rose to Rs 1,160.97 crore from Rs 782.45 crore in the corresponding period last year, the company said in a BSE filing.

The expenses incurred by company on purchase of raw materials during the third quarter of 2014-15 increased to Rs 912.56 crore from Rs 703.91 crore in the year ago period; while finance costs rose to Rs 170.87 crore from Rs 152.69 crore in the period under review.
 

The country's largest sugar producer has 14 plants with aggregated cane crushing capacity of 1,36,000 tonnes crushed per day, and alcohol distillation capacity of 800 kilo litres per day.
