Bajra edges up on pick up in demand

Bajra prices were up by Rs 30 per quintal at the wholesale grain market today on pick up in demand from consuming industries.

However, other grains including wheat and rice, traded in a tight range in scattered deals and settled around previous levels.

Traders said pick up in demand from consuming industries against restricted supplies from producing belts mainly led to rise in bajra prices.

In the national capital, bajra moved up by Rs 30 to Rs 1,430-1,435 per quintal.

Following are today's quotations (in Rs per quintal):

Wheat MP (desi) 2,350-2,700, Wheat dara (for mills) 1,640-1,645, Chakki atta (delivery) 1,650-1,655, Atta Rajdhani (10 kg) 220, Shakti Bhog (10 kg) 220, Roller flour mill 870-880 (50 kg), Maida 960-965 (50 kg) and Sooji 1,050-1,060 (50 kg).
 

Basmati rice (Lal Quila) 10,400, Shri Lal Mahal 10,000, Super Basmati Rice 9,500, Basmati common new 5,000-5,200, Rice Pusa (1121) 3,900-5,100, Permal raw 1,675-1,725, Permal wand 1,840-1,860, Sela 2,250-2,350 and Rice IR-8 1,600-1,616, Bajra 1,430-1,435, Jowar yellow 1,600-1,700, white 3,000-3,100, Maize 1,430-1,435, Barley 1,320-1,330.
