Bajra, maize edges up on scattered demand

Prices of bajra and maize rose by up to Rs 15 per quintal at the wholesale grains market due to scattered demand from consuming industries.

However, barley eased on reduced offtake against adequate stocks.

Traders said mild demand from consuming industries led to the rise in bajra and maize prices.

In the national capital, bajra and maize inched up by Rs 15 and Rs 10 to Rs 1,525-1,530 and Rs 1,665-1,670 per quintal, respectively.

On the other hand, barley slipped to Rs 1,360-1,370 against last close of Rs 1,390-1,400 per quintal.
