Press Trust of India New Delhi
Bajra prices plunged by Rs.37 to Rs 1,224 per quintal in futures trading today as traders preferred to book profits amidst reports of good production in growing regions.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange counter, bajra for delivery in October month contracts fell by Rs.37, or 2.93 per cent at Rs.1,224 per quintal.

Marketmen said apart from profit-booking by speculators at existing levels, a weak trend at spot markets due to slackened demand, mainly put pressure on bajra prices at futures trade here.

Meanwhile, India is the world's largest producer of Bajra.
