Bajra weakens on sluggish demand

Bajra prices eased by Rs 10 per quintal in an otherwise steady wholesale grains market today owing to slackened demand from consuming industries.

Traders said muted demand from consuming industries led to decline in bajra prices.

In the national capital, bajra prices moved down by Rs 10 to Rs 1,290-1,295 per quintal.

Following are today's quotations (in Rs per quintal):

Wheat MP (desi) Rs 2,300-2,835, Wheat dara (for mills) Rs 1,870-1,875, Chakki atta (delivery) Rs 1,880-1,885, Atta Rajdhani (10 kg) Rs 275, Shakti Bhog (10 kg) Rs 275, Roller flour mill Rs 975-985 (50 kg), Maida Rs 1,070-1,080 (50 kg) and Sooji Rs 1,160-1,170 (50 kg).
 

Basmati rice (Lal Quila) Rs 10,700, Shri Lal Mahal Rs 11,300, Super Basmati Rice Rs 9,700, Basmati common new Rs 5,200-5,300, Rice Pusa (1121) Rs 4,400-5,300, Permal raw Rs 2,050-2,075, Permal wand Rs 2,150-2,200, Sela Rs 2,800-2,900 and Rice IR-8 Rs 1,850-1,860, Bajra Rs 1,290-1,295, Jowar yellow Rs 1,750-1,800, white Rs 3,400-3,600, Maize Rs 1,540-1,550, Barley Rs 1,610-1,615.
