Bajrang bags gold in Colorado Springs, Yogeshwar pulls out

Bajrang today bagged a gold medal in the men's 61kg Freestyle event at the Dave Schultz Memorial International Wrestling Championship at Colorado Springs, USA, even as Olympic bronze medallist Yogeshwar Dutt failed to take part in the competition due to ill health.

Yogeshwar was supposed to compete in the 65kg category.

In the gold-medal bout, Bajrang got the better of Vladimir Flegontov of Russia 12-3 to finish on top, according to information received here by the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI).

However, other Indians in the fray -- Rahul Aware (57kg), Praveen Rana (70kg) and Narsingh Pancham Yadav (74kg) - failed to make it to the podium.
