Punjab state Congress today condemned the action of US-Canadian group, Sikhs For Justice, against Congress president Sonia Gandhi holding her responsible for the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.
"The campaign of vilification and harassment unleashed by Sikhs For Justice is condemnable and is not a step in the right direction," PPCC president Partap Singh Bajwa said in a statement.
Sonia Gandhi had always been a champion of minorities, feeling and working tirelessly for their welfare, progress and advancement in life, he said.
"She has been particularly keen on protection of Sikh community's rights," he added.
