Anticipating sure-shot defeat of the party in May 19 Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti polls, Punjab Congress Chief Partap Singh Bajwa was raising a bogey of 'apprehensions of rigging', Chief Parliamentary Secretary (CPS) of state local bodies Som Parkash Kainth said today.

Bajwa is also levelling 'baseless' allegations of intimidation of Congress candidates, he said, referring to the Punjab Congress chief's recent memorandum to state Governor and Election Commission about the apprehensions and allegations of rigging.

Addressing election rallies at half a dozen villages, Kainth called upon voters to inflict a crushing defeat on the Congress in order to avenge the infamous Operation Blue Star and the anti-Sikh carnage of 1984.

"Congress is anti-Punjab. It is the most corrupt party", he alleged.
