Balaghat sub-tehsil jr assistant caught taking Rs 1,700-bribe

A junior assistant at the Balaghat sub-tehsil was caught red-handed taking bribe of Rs 1,700 on Thursday in Rajasthan's Karauli district, an Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) official said.

The accused Vimal Chand Jain (59) had allegedly demanded the bribe amount from complainant Dharmendra Gujjar for issuing land registration certificate, DSP ACB Karauli Arun Singh said.

He said the complaint was verified yesterday and the accused was arrested today after he was caught red-handed accepting the bribe. The bribe amount was recovered and a case was registered against Jain.
