Ballarpur gets Rs 3.80 cr fund for modernisation of roads

Maharashtra government has approved fund of Rs 3.80 crore for development and modernisation of roads in Ballarpur of Chandrapur district, finance minister Sudhir Mungantiwar said here today.

He said that the funds have been approved for the development and the modernisation of roads.

A Government Resolution of May 30 issued by Industry, Energy and Labor Department of the state government has given approval to strengthen the link road between Ajaypur- Khedi Road and Major District Road (MDR) Number 7.

Also, the strengthening of MDR 21 from km 4/00 to 12/00 has been approved.

These works are worth Rs 190.23 lakh and 190.15 Lakh respectively.
 

"The infusion of Rs 3.80 crores into the development of internal roads in the rural areas of the Ballarpur constituency will accelerate the development of infrastructure and connectivity in the rural areas," Mungantiwar said.

Meanwhile, while inaugurating the Ballarpur Sub- Divisional office, Mungantiwar, who is also a guardian minister of the Chandrapur district, said that he will ensure that the Ballarpur assembly constituency becomes a model for the entire state.

"Henceforth, all inaugurations and soil-breaking (Bhoomipujan) ceremonies will be performed by the common person, a farmer, or a labour or a woman," Mungantiwar said while addressing a gathering during the inauguration.

"We have already earmarked Rs 100 crore to create a botanical garden, while a military school will be constructed at a cost of Rs 250 Crore. Also, a direct train will run between Ballarsha and Mumbai in near future," he said.

He added that the Kothari, which currently houses the office of Nayab (Deputy) Tehsildar will be a full fledged taluka by the year 2018.

He also spoke about building a medical college in the Chandrapur district and a sports complex in Ballarpur.

Mungantiwar also assured that the Palasgaon-Amadi lift irrigation project will be completed in the next 4 months.
