Former Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) president Pradip Kumar Balmuchu today strongly favoured fielding a consensus candidate in the Lohardaga Assembly bypolls in Jharkhand.
The Lohardaga seat was lying vacant after the sitting AJSU Party MLA Kamal Kishor Bhagat had lost his Assembly membership after he was sentenced to seven years jail by a local court in Ranchi recently in connection with a criminal case.
"I strongly favour a consensus candidate of opposition parties for the Lohardaga bypolls," Balamuchu said while addressing a press conference here.
