Sugar firm Balrampur Chini Mills Ltd today reported a 30 per cent rise in standalone net profit at Rs 98.78 crore for the March quarter, on better realisation from sale of the sweetener.
Its net profit stood at Rs 75.82 crore in the year-ago period, Balrampur Chini said in a regulatory filing.
Total income rose to Rs 777.19 crore in the fourth quarter of last fiscal from Rs 663.79 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year.

The company posted a net profit of Rs 99.42 crore during 2015-16 fiscal as compared to net loss of Rs 57.73 crore in the previous year.
Total income declined to Rs 2,801.22 crore during last fiscal from Rs 3,002.02 crore in the 2014-15 fiscal.
On consolidated basis, Balrampur Chini Mills has posted a net profit of Rs 99.3 crore in 2015-16 fiscal as against a net loss of Rs 57.95 crore in the previous year.
Total income fell to Rs 2,801.26 crore last fiscal from Rs 3,002.17 crore in the 2014-15 fiscal.
The board of directors approved the appointment of Sumit Mazumder as an additional director (Independent Director) with effect from May 21 for a term of five years.
