Banda at 41.6 degree C is hottest in UP

Even as parts of Uttar Pradesh witnessed rain and thundershowers, the mercury touched 41.6 degree Celsius at Banda today, the highest in the state.

According to the MeT department, rainfall (in cms) received in various parts of the state is as follows: Mahrajganj-4, Dhaurahra and Ballia-3 each, Bansgaon-2, Deoria and Muzaffarnagar-1 each.

Temperatures rose in Jhansi but remained unchanged in the other divisions.

The mercury remained below normal in Agra, Lucknow, Kanpur and Bareilly, whereas the highest temperature was recorded in Banda (41.6 degree Celsius).
