The bandh was total in Itanagar, Naharlagun, Nirjuli and Banderdewa areas as business and commercial establishments, educational institutions, private and central government offices remained closed while attendance in state government offices was thin.
Vehicles went off the roads except a few state transport buses which plied with escort, police sources said.
The bandh which began at 5 am remained peaceful without any incidents of violence being reported from any parts of the capital city, police said.
The BCIF called the bandh in protest against the state government's recent decision to shift the venue of the proposed greenfield airport from Karsingsa to Hollongi.
A similar bandh was also called by the forum last week.
