Bangla PM Hasina, BNP chief Zia congratulate Modi

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and opposition BNP chief Khaleda Zia today congratulated BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on securing a thumping mandate in the Lok Sabha polls.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today congratulated BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on securing a majority in the Lok Sabha polls, Bangladesh Premier's Special Assistant Mahbubul Hoque Shakil told reporters here.

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) chief and former prime minister Khaleda Zia also congratulated Modi who has led the BJP to a resounding victory in the polls.

"She (Zia) has sent a message of greetings (to Modi) through the Indian high commission in Dhaka," BNP vice chairman and party spokesman Shamser Mobin Chowdhury said.
 

Modi is all set to become the next Prime Minister of India as his party is heading towards a majority on its own and form the next government.
