A six-year-old child from Bangladesh, who was suffering from a "rare" disease and could not walk, has been successfully operated upon by a team of doctors at a government-run medical institute here, officials said on Monday.
A team of doctors headed by the orthopaedic department head recently operated upon the child -- who was diagnosed with "Trevor's Disease" -- and is recovering, the North Eastern Indira Gandhi Institute of Health and Medical Sciences said in a statement.
The child had a tumour-like mass that was mechanically restricting knee movement, it added.
