Bangladesh Foreign Minister to visit China

Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dipu Moni will pay an official visit to China from October 19 to 22, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said today.

Moni's trip comes ahead of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's three-day visit to Beijing beginning from October 22.

Moni will visit China at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said at a regular press briefing here.

China has expanded its strategic footprints in India's neighbourhood deepening political and trade relations besides investments in infrastructure projects.

Chinese President Xi Jinping met Myanmar's military chief Min Aung Hlaing here yesterday keeping up longstanding ties with Myanmar Military which ruled the country for decades.
 

Hailing the friendship between the two sides, Min Aung Hlaing said enhancing the comprehensive strategic partnership under the current circumstances is of great importance.

Myanmar is grateful for China's long-lasting support and positive role in maintaining peace and stability in its north, and is willing to deepen cooperation with China to advance the bilateral relationship, he said.

The Defense Services of Myanmar will make unremitting efforts to enhance the relationship between the two countries, he said, according to state-run Xinhua news agency.
