Bangladeshi held for trying to fly to Dubai with fake Indian

A 33-year-old Bangladesh national was arrested for trying to fly to Dubai allegedly on a fake Indian passport from the international airport here, police said today.

Kabir Ahmed was scheduled to fly to Dubai on May 11 from the international airport. Based on suspicion, immigration authorities detained Ahmed, who was found in possession with a fake Indian passport, a senior police official said.

The authorities later handed Ahmed to the Sahar police, after which he was arrested, he said.

A case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Passport Act and Rules was registered, he said, adding a probe was on.
 

A court in Mumbai has remanded the accused in police custody till Friday, added the official.
