A bank manager posted in Union Bank's Namli branch here was caught by Lokayukta police for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe in return for releasing the first installment of a loan.
Lokayukta Inspector Basant Shrivastava said that bank manager Mahendra Dehria had demanded Rs 25,000 from a person to release the first installment of a loan of Rs 4 lakh under the state's Animal Husbandry Scheme.
Acting on a complaint, the Lokayukta police laid a trap and caught Dehria and his associate Dilip Sharma when they accepted the bribe from the complainant, he said.
A case was registered under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act, officials said, adding that the two were released from the spot after they furnished a bond.
