Bank Manager shot at, 2 women robbed at gunpoint by 3 youths

A bank manager was shot at and two women robbed at gunpoint by three unidentified youths in Sahibabad area of the district this morning, police said.

Based on complaint filed by the victims, a case has been registered against the accused at Sahibabad police station.

The incident took place when retired ADG of CRPF, Shrikant Sharma's wife Mitlesh along with her neighbour Aruna Sarkar, wife of retired Air Force officer, was taking a morning walk outside her house in Lajpat Nagar area.

Three bike-borne unidentified youths asked for their gold earrings and rings on gunpoint. They robbed Mithlesh's earring and mobile and snatched Aruna's earring and ring.
 

When the trio was fleeing, they stopped Pardeep Pundhir, a bank manager, who also lives in the same locality, and asked for his laptop, a senior police officer said.

When Pradeep resisted, they shot at him.

Pradeep has suffered bullet injuries in his head and he is lodged at a private hospital here. He is recuperating and his condition is out of danger, the senior police officer said.

After shooting Pradeep, the trio fled from the spot, he said, adding, that they could not rob his laptop.

"We have formed a team to investigate the case. Police are scanning footage of CCTV installed nearby area to identify accused, who would be arrested soon," he said.
