Bank manager shot at for resisting robbery attempt

A 47-year-old bank manager was shot at by two bike-borne assailants while resisting a car loot attempt in Indirapuram area, police said today.

The incident occurred last night when Sifat Ullah, who works as manager with a Delhi-based bank, was going from Delhi to his house in Judge Colony in Vaishali area of Ghaziabad, they said.

"When he reached Vaishali, two bike-borne armed assailants waylaid his car and put gun on his head. Thereafter, accused asked him to get off the car," a senior police officer said.

When he resisted their robbery attempt, one of accused suddenly opened fire at him and fled, he said.
 

"After the incident, he was rushed to nearby hospital where his condition is stable," he added.
