Bank of Maha Oct-Dec net jumps nearly 4-fold at Rs 57 crore

Bank of Maharashtra's net profit jumped nearly four-fold to Rs 57.24 crore in the third quarter ended December of 2014-15.

The bank had registered a net profit of Rs 15.85 crore in the corresponding October-December quarter of 2013-14.

Total income of the bank rose to Rs 3,366.85 crore during third quarter of current fiscal, up from Rs 3,307.49 crore in the same quarter of previous fiscal, it said in a filing to the BSE.

On asset quality, BoM's gross non-performing assets (NPAs) rose to 6.65 per cent of the gross advances as against 4.01 per cent a year ago.

Net NPAs stood at 4.71 per cent of the net advances, up from 2.56 per cent a year earlier.
 

The bank reserved Rs 580.14 crore towards provisions and contingencies for the third quarter, up from Rs 407.78 crore a year ago.

Bank of Maharashtra scrip closed 1.25 per cent up at Rs 40.60 a share on BSE.
