A bank manager was today killed and another employee injured after the car they were travelling in fell into a gorge near Tachla on the Rishikesh-Chamba highway here, police said.
The accident took place on the Rishikesh-Chamba highway around 10.30 am when the two were on their way to attend their office in New Tehri, they said.
Himanshu Barthwal (32), manager of the Syndicate Bank, New Tehri branch was killed on the spot while Saurabh Gauniyal (27), a clerk in the SBI, New tehri branch was injured as the car they were travelling in fell into a gorge, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Bimla Gunjyal said.
"Gauniyal was rushed to the Narendra Nagar hospital", the SSP said.
Police said the car belonged to Gauniyal, who hails from Ajabpur Kalan in Dehradun, while Barthwal was a resident of Banjarawala.
