Police today arrested three

men who looted Rs four lakh in cash from employees of Sengaon branch of State Hank of Hyderabad in the district.

District superintendent of police Ashok Morale said a gang of six dacoits had apparently got a tip that cash would be brought to the bank by a car this afternoon.

As the car stopped in front of the bank, they surrounded it. Attacking the cashier Ashwini Jaibhai and peon Ganesh Chandel, they tried to snatch the bag containing the cash.

As Chandel resisted, they stabbed him, and fled with the bag.

The arrested dacoits were identified as Janardhan Ramrao Waghmare, Rajendra Singh Bawri and Badshan Singh Ajabsigh Tak.
