Banks asked to distribute Rs. 25,400 crores as farm loan: Modi

Apart from setting a target for farm loan distribution, the banks have been directed to distribute 15 lakh Kisan Credit Card (KCC) among the farmers, he said at a function.

Outlining the state government's plan to boost the farm sector, Modi said that it has been decided to set up 1000 farmers' club under the NABARD Subsidy scheme and asked the banks to consider setting up such club in the state to boost the farm sector.

The Deputy Chief Minister said that it has been also proposed to set up 50,000 Joint Liability Groups (JLGs) and one lakh Self-Help Groups (SHGs) for the benefit of the farmers.
