Bankura records 43.4 degree Celsius

The western districts of West Bengal sizzled under heatwave conditions today, while the rest of the state experienced normal day temperatures.

Bankura recorded the day's highest temperature in the state at 43.4 degrees Celsius, six notches above normal, the Met department said here.

At Asansol in Burdwan district, the day's highest temperature was recorded at 41 degrees Celsius, four degrees above normal.

Kolkata witnessed a fall in day temperature today and was pleasant at 33.4 degrees Celsius, which is two notches below average, the weatherman said.

The Met department has forecast partly cloudy sky with little possibility of rain in the next couple of days in the southern districts.
 

High day temperatures are likely to continue in the western districts of Bankura, Purulia, Burdwan and West Midnapore.
