Having worked hard on his bowling action for long, banned Sri Lankan off-spinner Sachithra Senanayake is hopeful of early return to International cricket.

"I am hoping to return to play international cricket as soon as I am allowed" Senanayake told reporters yesterday having turned out for his employer in the local mercantile cricket association tournament.

"Its been 3 months since I was banned. Later permission was granted to play in domestic games."

He said he has personally requested umpires to bring to his notice any oddity in his action.

So far no issues had been raised.

The Sri Lanka Cricket video analysts were also working with him since he took action to correct his bowling.

The ICC had ruled that Senanayake should not be permitted to bowl until he has undertaken remedial work to address elbow extension levels.

He was later sent to University of Western Australia to be tested.

Senanayake said the remedial action has resulted in him getting more bounce than he had previously experienced gaining.

"There is a good in everything (being banned) I will face more tests to prove myself and hopefully I could return to international cricket soon.
