Railway Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal today visited the Coach Care Centre at the New Delhi Railway Station to inspect the proto type of upgraded coach for sleeper and AC class.
The upgraded coach has world-class interiors with excellent ambiance and latest modern facilities and services.
"We wanted to improve interior design of these conventional coaches as these are designed many years ago. There are several improvements in the newly designed coaches," Bansal said after inspecting the proto type coaches.

The new coach is proposed to be having unique world-class standard features like ergonomically designed cushioned seats and berths, provision for LCD video screen, upgraded modular toilets and better illumination by using energy efficient and defused lighting system.
Besides, Bansal also inspected the first-ever locomotive fitted with compact Air Conditioning Unit in driver's cabin.
The AC cabin aims to provide relief to loco drivers on duty. Railways had proposed to create such improved cabins in all the locos in a phased manner.
Accompanied by senior railway officials, Bansal also inspected the state-of-the art high-speed large size autocar wagon, 'BCACBM', designed by Research Design and Standards Organisation (RDSO), capable of carrying 12 motor cars of a normal size per wagon.
The rake consisting of such wagons will have a capacity to carry a maximum number of 318 cars in various combinations against the current capability of maximum 265 cars per rake.
