Bar Association of India elects lawyer Lalit Bhasin its Prez

Advocate Lalit Bhasin has been elected the President of the Bar Association of India at the elections held on Sunday.

Bhasin, who is the President of Society of Indian Law Firms and the Chairman of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators India, will serve a two-year term at the association.

The election was held at the association's General Council meeting held here on September 11, in which Bhasin was elected with a 67-9 votes mandate.

The Bar Association of India is the apex body of the legal profession representing lawyers from all states of India and recognised by the Supreme Court.

Yakesh Anand was elected the General Secretary of the Association.
