Bar Coded Unique Identity Number for autos launched

Noida Traffic Police today launched a programme to allot a bar coded unique identity number to each genuine auto or tempo registered at the transport office here.

SSP Preetinder Singh pasted the first number on a tempo and registration process got started, Rajeev Narain Mishra SP (Traffic) said today.

"This exercise is being done with multiple objectives to filter the valid permit auto, thus restricting the invalid tempo plyers in the town," he said.

"Besides, this will facilitate commuters to identify the vehicle more easily in which they are travelling, he said.

"Moreover, we will have a database of passenger tempo and auto drivers as well as of owners. Undoubtedly this will help us in prevention of crimes," he said.
 

Noida traffic police in association with DND Flyway management organized awareness rally to awaken the commuters about road safety.

The SSP led the rally and rode a bicycle along with a team of traffic cops.

During the enforcement drive today, 1,345 vehicles were challaned for various violations and cash fine of Rs 1,54,900 was collected.
