Barley edges up on scattered buying

Barring a rise in barley prices on scattered buying from consuming industries, other grains ruled steady at the wholesale market today.

In the national capital, barley moved up by Rs 10 to Rs 1,630-1,635 per quintal.

Traders said scattered demand from consuming industries mainly influenced barley prices.

Following are today's quotations (in Rs per quintal):

Wheat MP (deshi) 2,245-2,445, Wheat dara (for mills) 1,610-1,615, Chakki atta (delivery) 1,615-1,620, Atta Rajdhani (10 kg) 220, Shakti bhog (10 kg) 220, Roller flour mill 850- 875 (50 kg), Maida 915-925 (50 kg) and Sooji 1,030-1,050 (50 kg).

Basmati rice (Lal Quila) 10,400, Shri Lal Mahal 10,000, Super Basmati Rice 9,500, Basmati common new 8,200-8,700, Rice Pusa- (1121) new 6,800-8,600, Permal raw 2,100-2,150, Permal wand 2,250-2,300, Sela 2,750-2,800 and Rice IR-8 1,925-1,975,Bajra 1,200-1,205, Jowar yellow 1,400-1,420, white 2,325-2,525, Maize 1,200-1,205, Barley 1,630-1,635.
